Hope you haven’t all tired of the crop tops that keep popping up all over the place this season yet (for examples see: Katy’s, Ginger Makes, Sallieoh, and Sewn Brooklyn) because here is one more to add to the list! I made this using the same pattern I created for my holiday outfit and lengthened it by incorporating pleats at the bottom and jazzed up the shoulders with a little bow action.
I used a lovely semi-sheer white Antwerp linen from Robert Kaufman I bought from Grey’s Fabric and Notions. I like that the linen is so light yet crisp. I also opted to use bias tape I made from the linen to bind the neck and armholes rather than the facings I used for the original pattern because I wouldn’t want the facings to show through.
It’s so nice that spring has finally arrived in New England! I was starting to have my doubts that it ever would – the winter was so harsh and long this year I thought we had perhaps entered an ice age and it would never be warm again… but here I am, out among the flowers in a short, sleeveless top! It really shows how pleased I am about this:
