Triangle Love Top

full view front

I had been wanting to make this triangle cutout version of the Datura Blouse from Deer & Doe, but wanted to be sure to find the perfect fabric to compliment the design. Enter Go-Go London from the Carnaby Street collection by Pat Bravo! I opted for the Powdery colorway, but the Lustrous is lovely too. I paired it with a minty cotton voile and found the most adorable little cat-face buttons for the back.

The pattern went together relatively quickly – I like that the top portion is self-lined. The top is loose enough that the buttons need not actually be functional, but I did include button holes and open them up. Although the pattern is labeled as advanced, it shouldn’t deter less experienced sewists from attempting it. The collarless or peter-pan collar versions would be considerably less tricky than the one with triangle cutouts.

  1. Oooooh so pretty! I really like the Go-go london fabric – never heard of that brand, but definitely going to check it out! The combo works perfectly with the Datura pattern – on my list of things to make!

P.S. Is that an adorable bow ring I spy??? :)

    • Thank you! I am always inspired by the Australian designers and sewing patterns and dismayed as the cost of getting them shipped to the states. One day it’ll be easier!

  2. Absolutely love your version! This is definitely one of my favorites I’ve seen. I’m in the process of making my first version of this. Thank you for the inspiration!
