As soon as this fabric arrived at Grey’s Fabric and Notions, I knew I would make a bright, summery Charlotte Skirt out of it. This is the third time I’ve made this pattern, and I think it’ll be my go-to pencil skirt pattern for all time. I adore pencil skirts, my self-described style is librarian-chic, so I must, right? Just as Katy had done, I added a kick pleat to the center back seam and shortened the skirt to right below the knee to allow for ease of movement. I used this tutorial for drafting the kick pleat onto the pattern, and this tutorial for constructing it with a lining.
1 yard of ikat print cotton
1.5 yards of muslin for the lining
.5 yard of fusible interfacing
1 pant/skirt hook and eye
