Shiny shorts

Lamé

As Laney mentioned in a short suit story, we recently stumbled upon an estate sale in Brookline. These lamé beauties are the product of my find, a rather modest dress and blazer combo.

I used the Iris pattern from Colette patterns. I’d already done the hard work of fitting a muslin for my polka dot shorts, but I did make a couple small changes for this pair. I lowered the waistband an inch bringing it closer to the original pattern. I also tried to lengthen the hem, but as it turns out I have a thing for short shorts and I hacked off the extra inches in the end. I just wish I had enough fabric left to make a short suit of my own.

  1. Why oh why did you cut up that gorgeous dress and blazer combo?? Ha! Just kidding! Love those shorts, Katy. They are definitely better at the shorter length, too. Cute-a-liscious!
